Lower Labor Costs

RCC Partners, Inc.
Fleet Size – 15 Trucks
Need – To reduce labor cost, lower overtime and confirm billable hours

RCC Partners faced a serious issue of employees padding their time sheets. Mechanics waiting until they got home to clock out, mechanics clocking in when they have not even reached the job site, and mechanics not clocking out for lunch. These were just a few of the issues RCC wanted to fix. By deploying Networkfleet, RCC has been able to confirm job time and more efficiently manage their mechanics. Knowing when they get to the job site, when they leave to run to the supply house, when they get back to the job site, and most importantly, when they leave for the day, has allowed RCC to reduce labor costs 20%. Overtime is a thing of the past unless the senior management knows why and approves the overtime.

Increase Customer Service Level

Nationwide Refrigeration, Inc.
Fleet Size – 20 Trucks
Need – Better respond to customer’s service calls

When you are working with refrigeration, you are working with the livelihood of many of the restaurants that Nationwide Refrigeration supports. Knowing where the mechanics are at all times is critical to responding to service calls in the Washington D.C. area. Management always felt they knew where their employees were, but they needed a way to graphically see the customers sites along with the location of their trucks at all times during the work day. By deploying Networkfleet, they can monitor the entire fleet, giving dispatchers real time information such as which mechanic is closest to the customer that is in need. Networkfleet has lowered their average response time to a service call, increased their ability to help the customers that are in the need the most, and reduced labor costs. Happier customers drive more business to Nationwide and higher service levels at lower costs is a win-win for both Nationwide and their customers.

Increase Productivity of Service

Triple S Termite and Pest Control
Fleet Size – 80 Trucks with different divisions
Need – Faster service time on contracts and grouping of certain divisions

Triple S has three distinct areas of their business: termite and pest control, home improvement, and landscaping. All three of these divisions have needs that the other do not, along with needs that are company wide. So flexibility in the system to only see the landscaping trucks if needed, and then with a simple click to see the termite and pest control trucks was critical in their decision to purchase Networkfleet. Serving many of their customers under contract means the faster they service their accounts, the more accounts they can service without increasing their staff. Being able to see service times at customer sites, drive time between customer sites, and idle time has allowed Triple S to better layout their service area, determine the required time to service each site, and reduce travel time between sites. Land marking their major accounts has allowed Triple S to access time reports, which allows more accurate determination of profitability of major contracts and enables them to adjust their bidding procedures if needed.

Lower Operational Cost of Fleet

Handyman, Inc.
Fleet Size – 8 Trucks
Need – Tracking of service needs, manufacturer’s recalls, and lower downtime of trucks

Handyman of Manassas is no different than most small companies that experience growth. Their fleet is critical to their ability to service their customers. Networkfleet has enabled them to improve fleet management by providing more accurate tracking of service needs and manufacturer recalls. This has allowed them to keep their fleet running longer, faster, and more efficiently than before deploying Networkfleet. The day the system was installed, they were notified of several manufacturer recalls on their vehicles that they had not known. Combining that with keeping all of their service records on the system, they can quickly track all the service requirements for their trucks and optimize fleet maintenance. This along with the vehicle tracking and theft deterrent feature of Networkfleet has allowed them to request a reduction in insurance costs.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery

Triple S Termite and Pest Control
Fleet Size – 80 Trucks with different divisions
Need – Needed to find one of their trucks after it was stolen

Triple S had only installed their Network Fleet for 10 days when on a Monday morning they learned one of the pest control vehicles was missing. Within minutes, they logged onto the Networkfleet web site and saw the truck driving down a main roadway in Prince William County. After calling the police, two other Triple S employees, with Networkfleet enabled vehicles, began an intercept course with the stolen truck. With the help of the main office, the two trucks caught up, and after noticing the Triple S trucks in the rear view mirror, the thief quickly bailed. With the help of the Networkfleet Fleet tracking reports, Triple S was able to assist the police in locating the thief. The good news was that Triple S was able to recover their truck within hours of it being stolen.

Lower Fuel Cost

R.C. Hawkins Construction Co, Inc.
Fleet Size – 100+ Trucks
Need – To reduce fuel cost by lowering idle time

R.C. Hawkins has been doing land development in Northern VA for 45 years. Over the years their fleet has grown from two trucks to over 100. The owners of R.C. Hawkins knew that many of their trucks were experiencing higher fuel consumption than other vehicles under similar conditions. After some research, R.C. Hawkins learned that many of their drivers were not turning their vehicles off while working on the job sites. Because the average truck consumes .07 gallons of fuel per hour while idling, they deployed Networkfleet to provide real time data and reporting. The drivers, realizing the wastefulness of letting their vehicles idle, began turning off their trucks while on the job site, reducing the fuel consumption of the entire fleet by 17%.
